Mahabanoo Mody Kotwal, along with Menka Shivdasani, Priya Sarukkai Chabria, Vinita Agarwal, Taseer Gujral, Rochelle Potkar, Sonia Rao, Nabina Das, Hemant Divate, Smruti Divate, Gayatri Chawla, Anjali Purohit, Onir, Jhilmil Breckenridge, Priyal Panchal and many others, had inaugurated the founding celebrations of Women Empowered-India (WE) Literary Community in September 2016. She has graced many WE Readings, Book Launches and Celebrations as our a very special Guest of Honour.

WE – TREE

Today, WE are a creative, collaborative, engaged community acknowledging the immense contribution of women to poetry, art, life and literature. There is so much beauty in our bonds, a growing resilience in our hearts.

All this has been possible with the way we collaborate, create, share and celebrate the gifts each one of us is blessed with. WE are getting closer in essence now to our beloved ‘Trees’, our roots deep, branches strong and fruits borne of mindful care.

This is the best time for the WE Poe-TREE Green Hearts Award 2022 to come into being, with gratitude, acknowledging a greening of hearts and minds, that surely precedes a greening of the world outside.
