Lina Krishnan

Two Poems

Load Shedding

Shadow puppets dance
In candle glow
Voices travel, calling

Somewhere, a pot falls

Footsteps shuffle out
From solitary caves
Gather, unbidden

Darkness needs company

Singing breaks out
Like a rash
The adda has begun

(Twin poems, set to the music, as it were, of the WE prompt : 'Fireside Songs')

Shadow Puppets

In the half light
Branches stretch
Twigs perform mudra
Magic envelops the darkness

The lights go on
A clean slate
Things are what they are
Black. Or bright
Nothing, now, to imagine
